Our first iPhone app is live!

Our first iPhone app is live!

We've just received news that our first iPhone app is now available to download from Apple's App Store.

AcuteMed is a fantastic online resource aimed at newly qualified doctors working in hospitals' Acute Medicine departments. It's a reference tool containing information on conditions, their diagnosis and treatment, and it's regularly edited and expanded by a dedicated group of medical professionals led by Dr. Andrew Stein.

In discussions about how we could take AcuteMed to the next level, it occurred to us that doctors may not be near a computer at the point that they need information, and that many hospitals block mobile signals and don't offer wifi. So wouldn't it be good if doctors could have all the information in a handy app…?

The comes with the complete current library of conditions and makes it easy for users to download more as and when they're added to the database via a simple in-app update facility.

We were delighted to find that, before we'd even been made aware that the app was live, someone had already given it a 5-star review: "After having the Oxford handbook on my iPhone and finding it really awkward to use this was a breath of fresh air. Quick, to the point, accurate. Includes doses for infusions which are often a pain to look up."

Check out the AcuteMed app for yourself at the App Store, it's free!
