Horrible Histories

In the world of Kids TV brands don't come much bigger than Horrible Histories.  This award winning series is about to start its fourth season and Noisegate's Warwick based recording studio has once again been the production facility for all of the music for the series.

Noisegate's Creative Director Matt works alongside Richie Webb to produce thirteensongs per series in an incredible range of styles.  The series writers send Richie the lyrics, he conjurs inspired melodies and the duo then whisk up the backing track at the studio.

The cast are recorded in London and the vocal sessions brought back up to Warwick to edit.  The wonder of the internet enables us to keep the producers of the show informed of what everything sounds like and we very much look forward to seeing how they turn out when coupled with the visuals.

2011 saw a landmark event for Richie and Matt - the children's Prom at the Royal Albert Hall was based around the most popular songs from series 1 to 3.  Matt also enjoyed the technical challenge of mixing the sessions recorded by the BBC OB unit - imagine his delight on discovering that there were 125 live microphones to deal with!
