In development: CMS v3
26.01.2012Exciting news this week: we've started work on CMS v3.
CMS v2 was launched a couple of years ago and has served us all really rather well, so v3 will be more evolutionary than revolutionary. But it will introduce a number of rather excellent new features. The list is yet to be signed off, but early indications include:
- Tagging of content: a super-intuitive way to associate one article with another, giving us a more flexible way of dynamically displaying content
- Amendments to the content categorisation system that will enable us to give CMS users control of sub-categories
- Youtube: a new text editor plugin will make it really easy to embed Youtube videos in any editable panel
- New modules - secret for the time being!
...and many less exciting but very worthwhile other upgrades that will improve the user interface and make things behind the scenes a little slicker.
What do you think?
If you use CMS v2 we'd love to hear what your opinion, what you like or dislike, and if there's anything that you think it should or could do to improve your experience of using it. Just send a quick email to cms@noisegatemedia.com and we'll be sure to get back to you.
